The end goal of the life of prayer is not that we have told God about everything going on, but we have surrendered our lives more fully to him. If we do not include the move of Yielding our lives to God in prayer, we are impoverishing our prayer lives. So, how can we follow the example of Jesus in learning how to pray as he prayed, "not my will, but your will be done"?
