I never thought I would be writing an introduction for myself to be placed on a church’s web-site.
I am Dee Ann, and I thought I was retiring about five years ago. But God was just transforming
me for the next season of my life. As I look back, I realize God has really been preparing me for
this all along. Growing up in Richland, attending college at SBU in Bolivar, getting married and
raising 2 children, teaching school for 25 years, directing Richland’s after-school program,
playing the piano for FCC, directing choirs, teaching children’s Sunday school and Wednesday
night classes, all have molded me into what God wanted me to do next.
As Worship Director, I am leading the Worship team, coordinating volunteers, pursuing
excellence in our Sunday worship service, and creating a culture of worship. Coordinating the
Children’s Church time involves working with many volunteers as we coordinate our vision to
connect our children to God through teaching the Bible, building positive relationships and
developing prayer lives. I have learned through my life experiences that it is of utmost
importance that our children learn about the Lord and make that decision to follow Him the rest
of their lives. I am excited about what God has planned for us at FCC.
